Day 3: Homemade Herb-infused Dinner Rolls

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, finely chopped
  • Extra melted butter for brushing

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Allow it to sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt.

  3. Create a well in the center of the flour mixture and add the yeast mixture, melted butter, beaten egg, rosemary, and thyme.

  4. Mix the ingredients until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.
